Daycare description / philosophy

My name is Karen and I am an ECE mother of 2 adult children, and I have been in the childcare field for over 30 years and have had my home daycare for 29 years. I love my job and I'm very lucky to be able to do what I do. I have space available for a 2+ year old in January 2024. I provide a healthy lunch and 2 snacks for the children. I provide each child with their own playpen and room for naps. I find this works much better than a group nap room, the children get a quality sleep this way with no interruptions. I run a play-based program where the children learn to discover the world around them at their own pace. We learn through hands on activities, circle times, sensory activities, puzzles, books, interactive play, crafts, and ofcourse lots of outdoor play. The children will gain strong large motor skills and work on their small motor skills on a daily basis. I try my best to schedule our day, but with 5 children of all different ages, that's impossible. I'm very flexible to each child's needs and abilities, which makes a home daycare a very positive experience. I do keep a schedule for meals, naps and outdoor time. I offer vacation rates for families who are full time. I have my first aid, cpr and vulnerable screening check. We are a pet and smoke free home. The children that join my daycare become life long family, the kids become friends and so do the adults. I pride myself in making my daycare a home away from home for all the children in my care.
