'Providing Mother's Care When Mommy's Away'


Owned and operated “Cookie Corner Daycare” very successfully for 18 years.. I'm Dawna and I've worked for Children's Services for 3 years and attended many of their classes to learn how to deal with Preschool Children on a physical, emotional and intellectual level.
I have 1st Aid & CPR. I also have a Full Time Assistant working with me at all times to ensure your child's safety. It's always reassuring to have a second set of eyes on them at all times. We are very organized.
In Winter months, I provide hot, nutritious, hearty meals and in the Summer months, lighter meals like grilled cheese sandwiches, salads, summer fruit and veggies, BBQ’s etc. and year around wholesome snacks.
Crafts for all age appropriate. Teaching children so they are ready for JK. Theme weeks for learning, Pajama Day, Parks & Picnics, Field trips, Hayrides, Daily Exercise routine, a fun Computer program to teach yrs 3 & up spelling words, baking, play time, music, puzzles, nature walks, outdoor trips (by foot or van) to parks, museums and libraries plus outings with other Daycare's and so much more.
We celebrate ALL occasions! Digital photos taken and can be viewed, downloaded and saved by you on our private website. Fenced in Backyard. Member of Guelph Public Library.
All Parents receive a Newsletter and Calendar the first of every month outlining the weekly themes and activities their children will be participating in for that month. You will know what your child is doing on a daily basis. Parents should be involved in knowing what their child or children are learning so that we can be consistent in case there is an area in which the child needs help.
'But most of all, I LOVE my job as I am an extension of you while you are at work. Together, and with consistency on both our parts, I can do what you would do if you were the one here all day. I feel that with our mutual participation, we can smoothly transition your child/children through the most important years of their lives.'
On the first initial interview (if at all possible), please come without your child unless they are very small and in a car seat. Not having a child attend the first interview gives you a clearer understanding of what my daycare is all about with no distractions.
Your child will want attention (as they should have) and important information is missed. This is frustrating to both the potential clients and myself and the interview will take twice as long. Many times after a client has joined, something may come up that was missed or not remembered due to those interruptions on the initial interview. This is NOT the child’s fault. I don’t have to meet your child until you are clear of what my daycare is all about.
Upon the second interview by all means, bring your child at that time for me to meet with them. We will have more time and he or she will receive the attention they so deserve.
