Daycare description / philosophy

Hello!

My name is Katye and I am a registered Early Childhood Educator. I am also a proud mama of a 10 month old baby girl.

I have over 8 years of experience in the field ranging from preschool to grade 4, but most recently teaching kindergarten and music to 3 and 4 year olds abroad for the past 5.5 years.

I have returned to Ottawa to provide a welcoming, nurturing, caring, and empowering environment for the children in my care. My philosophy is all about promoting independence, self-awareness and of course self-confidence. It is very important to me that all children in my care feel special and loved.

My program is based on an emergent curriculum. This means I use the children's interests to implement developmentally appropriate activities for both indoor and outdoor play. I love to sing and dance with the children and provide different art and sensory play activities for them. Basically, we like to have FUN!

I currently have a NUT and EGG free environment.

My hours of operation are 6:30-4:30pm.

* I currently have space for 2 children over the age of 2 to join my program.

I have completed First Aid for Parents course held by National Capital First Aid.
