Daycare description / philosophy
Pride & Joy Home Daycare is a safe, nurturing environment where your child will get the attention and care that he or she needs with a caregiver to little one ratio of 1:4, additionally in a smoke-free/ pet-free environment. You can rest assured that your child will be cared for with the utmost kindness, love and respect. I am trained in Standard First Aid and CPR Level C in addition to having a clear Police Record. Additionally, I am a member of the CCPRN (Child Care Providers Resource Network).
As a mother of a baby boy I know what it feels like to require child care from someone you don't know and so with my experience and love for children, my B.A in Psychology, in addition to having studied Child Development at Carleton University I thought what better way to be able to help to provide for my family and watch my son reach his developmental milestones than to open a home daycare. My objective is to provide the same type of child care for other children that I would want for my own child.
Activities:
Focus will be on helping children develop a solid foundation for learning, mainly through the use of The Creative Curriculum ® for Infants and Toddlers as well as Preschool. This provides children a great stock of activities to aid their intellectual, physical, social, emotional and creative development. At each milestone of development the learning programs are specialized from Infancy to School age and implemented in a highly supportive environment.
Meals and Snacks:
A variety of nutritious food will be provided each day. Breakfast, lunch and a morning and afternoon snack will be served. A weekly menu for the children will be e-mailed to parents to ensure they are comfortable with all nutritional choices. Please let me know if your child has any allergies or special food requirements.
Nap Time:
When children play hard, they need a comfortable, quiet place to nap! Babies and toddlers will sleep in a quiet bedroom with cozy cribs. Children ages 3-5 will rest on thick mats that we provide. Blankets, pillows and stuffed animals from home are always welcome to help the children relax and feel comfortable and secure.
My home is located on Chesterton Drive just off of Meadowlands. It is near General Burns Park.
