Daycare description / philosophy

I have been running my private dayhome for 4yrs now, originaly from the uk with 9 yrs experience as a registered daycare . we moved here 6yrs ago and i decided to wait for abit for my own children to settle in canada before opening up my daycare here .

I have 3 children of my own 2 boys aged 19& 16 and 1 girl who is 14, we do have 4 well behaved dogs who have a seperate dog run area .We also have 2 kittens who we recently adopted.

Myself and my daughter are also volunteers for AARCS , as you can see in my previous comments the love of animals ....which i believe is a great way to teach children to treat others human or animals with love and respect .

I have a diploma in childcare with a level 3 qualification along with a police clearence and first aid certificate & cpr.

Whilst living in the uk i have several other qualifications in childcare which i would be happy to show in my portfolio.

I strongly believe a well balanced child comes from there early years !

I believe that they should be taught good manners .

Show respect and to be respected .

To feel safe in there surroundings.

Treated as individuals .


Are daily routine usually consists of free time first thing followed by eithier Arts & Crafts , Song time , Story time , Dressing up !
Children gain social skills through play and aray of imagination ! using all of are fine motor skills where we can !

After lunch is uasually outside play , depending on weather and seasons . This is where there gross motor skills and physical side come in ....climbing trees , building dens , getting mucky , learning all the world around us and importantly getting to explore nature and having fun !

Or simply in the back garden , playing on swings , slides , tramopline , sand tables etc .

Newly build veg area where the kids get to explore and plant there veg of choice , this is where we can expand there learning ! questions all about where does it come from? shapes ?, colours? learning how they grow and how to look after there veg !, watering , feeding knowledge of there enviroment and best ever.. they finally get to eat what they have grown !

We love to explore are surroundings , could be in fish creek park , zoo trips , local parks . Spring is the best time for children .

Summer time generally at the lake , where they get to play on the beach !

After all that snowy winter what better way to see the children laugh and play through fun using all there social , emoitional , physical experiences .

I believe in a home based setting in which a child should feel part of that family, treated equally with respect .

The most important thing is your child should feel loved in a secure enviroment with consistency through education and fun .
