Daycare description / philosophy

My name is Mairilyn Yera, owner and in-home childcare provider at Happy Feliz Daycare.

Happy Feliz Daycare was born out of love and passion to work with children and influence them positively from a very early age. I strongly believe that early childhood is the fertile ground where lifelong habits are formed and the future of our communities and the world resides, thus we need to invest in it with tender and careful care.

My work with children and adults as both yoga teacher and caregiver, fuels my passion for quality early childhood programs.

It is my goal to support the upbringing of a more peaceful and healthy society by raising active, caring and happy children with a holistic approach to life.

What I provide:
- Care in Spanish and English language
- A nurturing, holistic, fun, educational and safe environment where each child is inspired and given the tools to build confident and be an independent learner
- Home-made vegetarian meals with whole grains, healthy protein and calcium sources, as well as fresh produce and organic Dirty Dozen of vegetables and fruits
- Daily yoga, gym, dance and/or outside exercise, including outdoor play on daycare yard and to nearby bridges and parks
- A play-based curriculum with balance between structured activities
and free play
- Weekly report to parent on their child's activities, development, and observations

- Currently enrolled part-time in Early Childhood Education Program at Algonquin College
- CCPRN's Home childcare training
- Children's Yoga, Kundalini and Hatha Yoga Teacher, 2005-2012
- BS Computer Science, 1998
- First Aid and CPR training
- Police Record Check
- 0ngoing workshops, reading and training on childcare related themes to enhance my professional practice
- Parent's reference available upon request
